Babies & Toddlers
In our youngest classrooms, we work hard to make sure your baby feels safe and loved. Infants will be held, cuddled, talked to, sung to, and introduced to many new experiences. Communication between parents and the center is very important at this age. Classroom teachers will send home daily communication sheets so that parents will be aware of meal times, nap times, and diapering.

These classes use the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) curriculum which focuses on communication, problem solving, fine motor, gross motor, and personal/social skills.

You can read more about individual classes below. You will find information about the class depending on age and development. Each description includes a link to a class schedule.
Dandylions

The children in this class set their own schedules. Parents record for the teachers the child’s sleeping habits and feeding routine and the teachers use that as a guideline to care for the child each day. Teachers will communicate with the parents daily when and for how long the child slept, when and how much the child ate and when their diapers were changed and why. Each child has its own space in the classroom and children do not share cribs. Children do share bouncy seats, swings and floor spaces. Furniture and toys are sanitized on a regular basis. This classroom has a nursing room available for moms that wish to nurse during the day. Heritage CDC provides the linens for the cribs, bibs and wipes. Parents are responsible for the child’s food, diapers and any creams or ointments needed for diapering.

The Dandylions’ teachers will love on your child and will help them discover the world around them.

Rainbows

The children in this class are becoming more mobile and move about on their own.  Although they are beginning to pull up and will eventually walk, they may still prefer to crawl for a while.  Rainbows will begin to take things from other children.  The children at this age will use all of their five senses to discover the world around them.  They might squeal to ear noise, make faces when they smell something stinky, use their tongues to taste the floor, look at everything closely and touch everything within and even out of their reach.  These children will put everything, including their friends body parts, in their mouths.  Heritage CDC provides the linens for the cribs, bibs, spoons and wipes.  Parents are responsible for the child’s food, diapers and any creams or ointments needed for diapering.

Bouncin’ Bunnies

The children are beginning to move at a very quick pace.  Bunnies are not very respectful of other personal spaces and this may cause conflict.  Children will lash out at friends that are in the way, sitting too close, bumping into them, taking their toys and breathing their air.  Children in this class are beginning to enjoy “helping” their teachers.  Sometimes these children will still want to cling to favorite blankets and toys.  Bunnies begin to know friends names when they are called.  These children love to dance to music!  Bunnies are beginning to use their mouths for talking and eating and some still will use them for biting…other people.

The Bouncin’ Bunnies teachers will love on your children and help them discover the world around them.  They will help them learn to love their friends and to be kind to others.

Sunshines

The children are beginning to jump up and down and climb on furniture.  Beginning to call their friends by their names.  They enjoy stories and songs.  They will “strike back” when offended.  Some have begun to push, some may still bite others when frustrated.  Children this age, love to sing songs.  Children love to be helpers to their teachers.  Some children may begin to potty train before they are two years of age but most begin at the age of 24 months.
